Music to Our Ears
Music is an important part of St. John’s weekly Sunday worship service. In addition to hymns sung by the congregation, the Chancel Choir performs a variety of music, from traditional to more contemporary. Special programs may incorporate solo, duet or trio performances. Some programs include live flute and/or guitar accompaniment.
The choir director and organist is Rhonda Vonnahmen. While members of the choir all enjoy singing, they also enjoy the fellowship and fun shared during the rehearsals and the group’s occasional gathering for dinner at an area restaurant.
The choir meets at the church for rehearsal on most Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m., with a summer break from mid-May to mid-Sept. If you enjoy singing or playing an instrument and are looking for musical fellowship, you are invited to join the St. John’s choir.
